You did that through the spell add customizer?  I mean, sure, if you don't want to actually add a spell, you can instead just "make" an item and call it whatever you want.

We allow for grabbing a base item and renaming it in the customizer and setting your own price as well. Such is the power of customization :)

You could also run the resulting html output sheet through Google Translate, but that's kinda hit or miss. :)

changing the text for *data* that is output (such as feats or equipment) is very easily handled by adding a datafile that modifies the description text.

there are tutorials (lessons) available and the help files explain well.

essentially, using a spell file as an example;
spell name.MOD<tab>DESC:.clear<tab>DESC:newtext to display

I think that perhaps I misdiagnosed the problem. The three items that PCGen couldn’t find on load were

WARNING AWT-EventQueue-0 CharacterManager:256 The following warnings were encountered while loading Desmora.pcg

07:16:29.328 WARNING AWT-EventQueue-0 CharacterManager:267 * Could not find equipment: Scroll (Charm Monster)

07:16:29.329 WARNING AWT-EventQueue-0 CharacterManager:267 * Could not find equipment: Scroll (Eagle's Splendor/Divine)

07:16:29.329 WARNING AWT-EventQueue-0 CharacterManager:267 * Could not find equipment: Scroll (Restoration (Lesser))

I just checked and these three scrolls are in the 6.08.00RC3 standard list in the Inventory|Purchase tab, but PCGen couldn’t find them on load. But perhaps they had slightly different names in earlier (6.07?) versions? The old references seem to be of the form “Scroll (_________)” and the new references seem to be of the form “Scroll of ________”.

Thoughts?

I personally do not use the option to “Save Custom Equipment to customEquipment.lst”. I have to manage about a dozen Pathfinder characters that use several different sets of sources. Some sets of sources (like PFS) are quite large. I was worried that any saving of custom items in customEquipment.lst could cause a problem loading characters that don’t use the source that includes the item the custom item was based on, or worse pulls in an entire source I didn’t want loaded just to resolve the custom item.

Hi, everyone!

Am I remembering correctly that when I use the automated equipment generator (such as to make a custom scroll) there are two options of where PCGen stores the new creation: either 1) in a general custom equipment file or 2) with the character's .pcg file? If I am correct, where do I set this option? 

I thought the answer was yes and that I had set it to store with the .pcg file within the Preferences tab.

I recently upgraded to 6.08.00 RC3. Then when I loaded an old character I got a warning that a few of the character's custom items didn't exist. (Note that when I uninstalled the old, prior version of PCGen I selected the option to not save old characters, equipment... Maybe I shouldn't have!) I suspect that this error was because I didn't direct PCGen to save the custom equipment with the .pcg.

Thoughts?

PS: Thank you for bundling Java 11 with the Windows version. I was scared about all this talk about Java 11 and how it doesn't have an auto installer.... But 6.08.00 worked just fine for me since I used the Windows installer file.

More like a week and a bit.

We know, OK.  It's an issue on the webhosting company';s end.  They are being unhelpful support-wise.  I ahve made a complaint to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission.

As soon as we get it back up the data will be transferred to a new host.
