Pathfinder unchained rogue skill unlock "knowledge" doesnt appear on output

Tengu

Hi all,
when adding a Pathfinder unchained rogue skill unlock for say "perception" all works fine.
When I chose "knowledge" though I can chose it and it appears in the GUI as entry but nothing appears in the output preview or the actual output. Neither the 5 ranks nor the 10 ranks items.
Any idea why?

Thanks for the information.  I didn't realize that it was a convenience field but it doesn't seem to work very well as it blanks out anything I put into it every time I switch to another character or tab.

Is there anything else that you can recommend for tracking Hit Points between sessions that is a little more permanent (other than the GM's Notes that is)?

Thanks again,
Mario

Hi,

That's just a convenience field for when PCGen is running. There is nothing stored between sessions set up for that. (Character sheets are the output, they don't have any direct input back into the program)
Cheers,

Hi Everyone,

Noticed this the other week and don't really see a solution for it.  I keep trying to use the "Wounds/Current HP" box under the character sheet to keep track of my characters' Hit Points between games, but for some reason the information doesn't save.  There have even been times that the update that I write in the field simply disappears when I change screens (either to another character or another tab on the same character).  I've even tried writing it in different ways (-3 HP, or -2 or 14 for the new HP total) but nothing seems to stay on screen so that I can keep track.  I am currently using the "Standard.htm.ftl" as that is the closest to my homebrew Pathfinder system, but I have not really tried any of the other Character Sheet layouts (preview.html keeps crashing the whole program).

Does anyone know a fix to keep that field from just blanking between sessions?  I've had to start using the GM's Notes on the Description Tab to keep track but its a pain to keep swapping back and forth.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Mario

Re: Pathfinder unchained rogue extra rogue talents sticking to normal rogue talents

Glad it all worked out. The books can assume the person reading them is smart enough to make the distinction between standard and unchained rogue feats, but computers are stupid. They only do what you tell them to do, and the easiest way to do that is to keep the abilities separate.

Thank you for pointing out that there are two separate feats for normal vs unchained rogues. I did not expect that since in the books there is only one item.
My fault, I took the normal one and overlooked the unchained one (probably possible since the houserule to ignore feat prerequisites is active).
I corrected my character now and it works.
Thanks again. :-)

Well, you can't take the Extra Rogue Talent feat in pcgen 6.08 RC8 as an unchained rogue. It's not a valid option.  You have to select the Extra Unchained Rogue Talent feat instead. It sounds like you might not have selected Unchained as the Rogue Class Selection option.

Pathfinder Archetype Swordmaster adding a info box to output for # of trances?

Tengu

Hi all,

when using Pathfinder Archetype Swordmaster there is a class feature called "trances" which is available a limited number of times per day.
Often these features are displayed on the first page of the output sheets with tick boxes and explanation.
For trances that is not the case.
How could I mod the feature to display an info box on the first page of an output sheet? I do not know the tags/mechanic for this.

Thanks for all the fish.
It's a great achievement, and it still runs very nicely.
In many ways there are now free and commercial alternatives that will take up the torch, not least D&D Beyond..

Thanks

Odd, that was back in December. Wonder why it resent 8 months later.

Since then there have been several updates, a couple book adds, and PF2e is almost ready for public consumption. On top of that, there is still some code development as the formula system takes on a new shape.

Ah well, the program continues to persist!

Might help?

From Andrew:
Team - I'll do another power sweep of bug clean up before the end of month. I'm going to push out RC 9 for 6.08 in that time frame. If you have any last minute bugs (Oh please this absolutely must be fixed!) for 6.08, now is the time to submit. @Nylanfs (UTC-5) Spread the news so we can get this handled.

Ok great. I will try my luck over there and see what happens.

The [Not Implemented] Indicates the data monkey was unable, unsure or did not want to hold up giving to folks.

Best way to implement it requires an experienced data monkey to take a look. To get that, most enter a request on the PCGen Jira tracker. I can say, Spell Casting is the most difficult to tackle.

I have seen quite a bit of activity from the Code Team, so it might be possible here in the next few months. (No promises cause the volunteers have crazy schedules)

Does anyone know if the Spell-less Ranger from Kobold Quarterly Fall 2009 Issue 11 is available, or where I could get better instructions on how to add class features to a custom class than the documentation provided with the program? Thank you.
