FYI, the program is written in Java, however the data is in the LST format, which is what is needed for "coding" up books.

Load up the program, and click on Help, then Documentation. There are also Youtube videos on how to create the LST Datasets.

Unless you want to volunteer, the answer is 'probably not.' The guy that was doing the Starfinder section retired from doing PCGen work. (And became a Venture Agent, I think.)

I want to add a template to add bonus skill points but I don't know what tag to use.

Re: Help with my Favored Soul

I've tried that and I've tried copying the tag from the Cleric class in the rsrd_class.lst file and neither is working.  I'm also realizing that I haven't mentioned what version of PCGen that I'm using, which is 6.08.00RC8 if that makes a difference.

ABILITY:Cleric Class Feature|AUTOMATIC|Cleric ~ Spells (is the line I've copied)

SPELLS:RaceName|TIMES=3|CASTERLEVEL=3|Magic Stone <tab>

Re: 3.5e Class skills

Andrew Maitland

Best would be to create a TEMPLATE

Grant All Skills as Class Skills <tab> CSKILL:ALL

Then add that to your characters for that game.

From the documentation:

*** Updated 5.13.6

Tag Name: CSKILL:x|x

Variables Used (x): Text (<Skill Name>)

Variables Used (x): Text (Type=<Skill Type>)

Variables Used (x): ALL

Variables Used (x): LIST

Variables Used (x): .CLEAR

Variables Used (x): .CLEAR.Text

What it does:

  • Grants the listed skills as class skills.
  • When used in a Class LST object it grants the class skills only to the class it is actually in.
  • When used in a Domain LST object it grants the class skills only to the classes that grant the domain.
  • When used anywhere else it grants the class skills to all classes the character possesses.

Examples:

CSKILL:Listen|Spot

The "Listen" and "Spot" skills are made class skills.

CSKILL:Search|TYPE.Knowledge

The "Search" and "Knowledge" type skills are made class skills.

CSKILL:ALL

All skills are made class skills.

CSKILL:LIST

Skills selected in the associated choice are made class skills. (In Abilities and Feats)

CLASS:Sorcerer.MOD <tab> CSKILL:.CLEAR.Scry <tab> CSKILL:Drive|TYPE.Knowledge|Perform

Modifies the Class Sorcerer, droping the class skill "Scry" and adding "Drive, Perform and all TYPE.Knowledge" skills.

CLASS:Blackguard.MOD <tab> CSKILL:.CLEAR <tab> CSKILL:Concentration|TYPE.Craft|Diplomacy|Heal|Intimidate|Knowledge (Religion)|TYPE.Profession|Climb|Jump|Listen|Spot|Swim|Pilot

Modified Class that removes all class skills in the object previously, then adds in the specific list.

CLASS:Blackguard.MOD <tab> CSKILL:.CLEAR.Handle Animal|.CLEAR.Ride|Heal <tab> CSKILL:Pilot

Modified Class that removes only Handle Animal and Ride from the original class skill list, and then adds Heal and Pilot.

Re: Help with my Favored Soul

Andrew Maitland

On the class line you need the tag:

SPELLLIST:2|Favored Soul|Cleric

From the documentation:

*** Updated 5.11.4 ***

Tag Name: SPELLLIST:x|y|y

Variables Used (x): Number (number of choices)

Variables Used (y): Text (Class Name)

Variables Used (y): DOMAIN.Text (Domain Name)

What it does:

  • This is an optional tag with PCGen defaulting to the class name as the name of the spell list if this tag is not included.
  • Following the number of choices (x), this is a pipe-delimited (|) list of class names (y) that the class can choose from to duplicate spell casting ability.
  • For a spellcasting class with subclasses that have separate spell lists, the SPELLLIST tag should be included in the subclass line only.

Example:

CLASS:Faemancer <tab> SPELLLIST:1|Ranger

The class uses the ranger spell list.

SUBCLASS:Egoist <tab> SPELLLIST:1|Ranger|Druid

The subclass uses either the ranger or druid spell list.

CLASS:War Mind <tab> SPELLLIST:2|Ranger|Druid|Barabarian

The class uses 2 of the ranger, Druid or Barbarian spell lists.

CLASS:Blood Witch <tab> SPELLLIST:1|DOMAIN.Animal

The class uses the Animal Domain spell list.

CLASS:Rogue.COPY=Blood Witch <tab> SPELLLIST:1|DOMAIN.Animal

Copy class Rogue to Blood Witch useing the Animal Domain spell list.

CLASS:Defender.MOD <tab> SPELLSTAT:INT <tab> BONUSSPELLSTAT:NONE <tab> SPELLTYPE:Arcane <tab> SPELLBOOK:NO <tab> BONUS:CASTERLEVEL|Defender|TL <tab> SPELLLIST:1|Channeler

Modifying the class Defender changes all of these tags to determine bonus spells and maximum casting level.

Where it is used:

Class Line, SubClass line or SubstitutionClass line.

Yea, quite a few of the AP player guides assume you have the Advanced books also in addition to the Core books.

Bingo!
My bad: I don't normally use the Advanced rules, and I didn't realize I hadn't loaded it.
To my (partial) excuse: when I saw the complete list of traits mentioned in the Rise of the Runelords handbook appear in the "Traits" pane:

I thought nothing was missing.
I was wrong

Thank you :)
