Re: Installation on Android Tablet #bodmeeting

I started a Google Doc and wrote up the basic process of getting the Linux (Beta) feature installed on capable Chromebooks, with a couple of screenshots. I also added in what I could about getting PCGen to run.

Feel free to add to it and post what you'd like to the wiki, etc.

Do you also want some instructions on installing multiple versions on Linux and creating the desktop files?

Just some basic instructions on what options / apps that need to be selected, or installed and some screenshots of what the options look like that need selected.

I can get something together. Might need some help with some of the write up as I'm technical enough to get by with some googling, but might not be great at a write up.

Can you message me on Discord? Same username as here.

Want to give me a writeup with some screenshots and I'll see about getting it in the wiki and on the website.

Android Tablet, not that I've been able to get working.

Most newer Chromebooks will have Linux support (it is a beta feature) almost out of the box, which runs within ChromeOS. You'll have to research which ones do or don't.

As someone who runs PCGen on a Chromebook, I can confirm that you don't need to be in Dev mode, Linux installation is a couple of button presses via the settings, and you will need to install java on your own.

Re: Installation on Android Tablet #bodmeeting

It requires a full distro of Java, so if you can get a droid tablet to run Java good luck. There is some indication that a Chromebook can be switched into dev mode, install linux, and then java and run PCGen.

Re: RC6 Modding output texts .CLEAR not working anymore? #pathfinder

Discussion here has raised the question of whether or not the spell you are trying to .MOD is in multiple sources (or la source oading after your .MOD source)...  A later loading source with the same spell could be adding the "original" description back on top of yours..

Subject: [pcgen] RC6 Modding output texts .CLEAR not working anymore? #pathfinder

Hi,
I have replaced a lot of spell descriptions with my own longer ones using a syntax like
Mount.MOD           DESC:.CLEAR        DESC:blabla

The tag .CLEAR used to wipe the original content.
Now on the pdf output sheets I somehow get to see all my own texts PLUS behind this the original text.
How can I avoid this?

Re: RC6 Modding output texts .CLEAR not working anymore? #pathfinder

Paul Grosse

It might be DESC:.CLEARALL

My guess is that either something is messing with the registry, Java instalation and/or links causing the error.

Uninstalling and reinstalling PCGen resolves the issue.

Only got the option to select one. I just noticed the [not implemented] so it might not be set up completely

Do you not get the option to select your 3? Or are they just not showing up on the output sheet (OS)?

Re: Mythic Path Ability ~ Armored Might

Hi George,
I just tested it and saw it with no problems. I loaded the core supplements and the Mythic Adventures source. You need to have the Armored Might Mything Path ability. Once you have that ability assigned to the character, it'll show up on Temporary Bonuses under the "Ability" category.

If you are not already doing so, I recommend using 6.08.00RC6 (which is what I tested).

Thanks Jason for getting back to me so promptly.

I've had a look in Temporary Bonuses and can not find an entry for Armored Might. Do I need to have any particular source loaded or a check box ticked somewhere?

Thanks
George

Hi George,
The way PCGen works, there's no way for the ability to "know" what armor you're wearing. So the way Armored Might is coded is as a Temporary Bonus. If you go into the Temporary Bonuses tab, there should be an Armored Might option in there where you can pick the current value of your armor bonus, and it will correctly calculate and give you the right bonus.
